The boat sinks. The sailors on the ship throws Pi over board trying to use him as bait to get the Hyena out of the life boat. This starts Pi's adventure. -

Richard Parker is on the Boat.
Pi finds out that Richard Parker is in fact still on the boat with him. This sets the book in play. -
Pi gets food
Pi goes under to the life boat supplies, the place where all of the food is. It is under the tarpaulin, where Richard Parker presides most of the time. This allows Pi get the food and he despretly needs. -
Richard Parker purrs
Richard Parker lets out a type of purring showing contentness. Pi decides at this point he will tame Richard Parker like the lion tamers at the zoo. -
Pi tries to fish
Pi attempteds to fish so he can give Richard Parker fish as treats. He uses his other shoe as bait, but doesn't catch anything. This changed Pi's out look on his survival. -
Fish on the boat
Fish start jumping on the boat. When one hits Pi's face Pi thinks that it was Richard Parker attacking him. Once he recovers he tries to get one. Once he does he uses parts of it as bait and feeding Richard Parker. This gives Pi a chance to survive. -
Pi uses turtle shells
Pi uses turtle shells as sheilds to protect him from Richard Parker while trying to establish himself as alpha. After a couple tries he comes out on top, This establishes out on top as the alpha and gives him more control over Richard Parker. -
Pi vs Richard Parker
A Dorado jumps out of the water chasing flying fish. Richard Parker and Pi stare down for it and Pi wins. This shows that Pi has turned into the full alpha on the boat. -
Pi finds the island
They land on an island. Pi uses this island to restock and get food and water. They soon leave the island. This allows Pi to relax, and be full for a first time in a while giving him much hope he will survive. -
The Frenchman
Pi while he is blind from lack of water comes in contact with a Frenchman. Soon it is obvious that the Frenchman is going to eat Pi but Richard Parker eats him first. This brings Pi to face what he has done on the ocean even letting a man die. -
Landing on the shore of Mexico
Pi lands on the shore of Mexico, Richard Parker leaves Pi and runs into the Mexican forest. This ends Pi's adventure.
