What I Learned About the Life of David (paragraph)
David's life was from about 1040 BC to 970 BC. He grew up to be a great leader in Judah and in Israel. He ruled for about 40 years, which was longer than any other king in ancient Israel. What gained him popularity was defeating the Goliath in 1025 BC. After David died, his son Solomon became king. -
David's son, Absalom, rebells against him
David's sons struggled to come to a decision of who would succeed their father as king. One of them, Absalom, rebelled against David, and that forced the king to leave for Jerusalem. Eventually, David's troops killed Absalom and regained control, but mourned for his son. -
