Golding quits teaching to join the Royal Navy
One day in 1940, Golding abandoned teaching to Join the Royal Navy and fight in WWII. He spent six years on a boat where he fought battleships. -
Lord of the Flies was published
In 1954, after being rejected twenty-one times, Golding published hsi first and most known novel,, "LOrd of the flies". He recieved inspiration from his stuents when he was teaching back in 1935. -
Death
On June 19, 1993, William Glding died of a heart attack in Perranarworthal, Cornwall. After he passed away, his manuscript, "The double Judith" was published.
