The Soviet Union felt as if Germany should remain divied sfter the war and not rebuilt, so the soviets kept West Berlin hostage by cutting off all traffic and water. As a result of the soviet blockade, British and American officails flew in supplies every 3 minutes for 11 months. -

After Egypt Nationalized the Suez Canal, Isaraeli, French, and Britsh forces attacked Egypt only to later on withdraw from the fight. -

Cuban Missile Crisis
The U.S. placed missiles in Turkey so the Soviet Union responded by placing missiles in Cuba. The U.S. saw them as a threat so a blockade was placed around Cuba to prevent further instalation a missiles in Cuba. Both the U.S. and the Soviet Union decied not to risk nuclear war and remove the missiles from Turkey and Cuba. -

Khaled el Islambouli led a group of assassinators to kill the Egyptian President during Sadat's review of the troops on the aniversary of the Yom Kippur War. -

Students of China gathered in Tiananmen Square to protest and boycott because they wanted a Democratic Poltical Reform. The protest resulted in a bloody massacre among the sea of students. -

Hungary allowed vactioning East Germans to go to Austria so they go to West Germany. East Germany closes its borders which resulted in prostest, so the new leader, in hope of stability, allows the citizens to leave. -
Collapse of the Soviet Union
There were over 100 ethnic groups in the Soviet Union and some wanted independence and a reform The Communist Party feared reform so they tried to overthrow Gorbachev and they failed, ending the Soviet Union and the Cold War.
