The board of the american psychiatric association voted 13-0 to remove homosexuaility from its list of psychiatric disorders. There was on outreach for lesbians and gay men on a television station which led to changes. -

There was an enormous march in washington that brought million gay rights supporters. it was the largest protests in American history. it brought a lot of negative attention that eventually stopped but the LGBT community faced widespread discrimination. -

Right wing religious movements believed that AIDS was god’s punishment, that expanded via direct mail. People believed that being gay meant you were going to die soon and get AIDS. -

Massachusetts was the first state that allowed same sex marriages. Gay and lesbians americans were free from criminal classification. The recognition of gay marriages by church and state continued to divide opinions worldwide. The U.S began to provide support and funding. -

There was related films of lesbian, gay bisexual, and transgender. Most have same sex romance and relationships as a plot. Brokeback Mountain was a major benchmark in modern gay cinema. It featured a love story with two homosexual roles. -
Belgrade Anti Gay Riot
Incident of violence against LGBT people during a pride parade. It was organized to promote LGBT rights in serbia. There was supposed to be a parade in 2009 but it got cancelled because of threats. anti -gay and anti- government protesters fought with 5,000 armed policies. They threw bricks, glass bottles and firecrackers. So, the police used tear gas and rubber bullets. -
Obama Support
Obama was the first U.S president that supported the freedom for LGBT couples to marry. Obama said “treat others the way you want to be treated”. Many people have different views on marriage but they should be respected. He believed that same sex couples should be able to get married.
