  • Society For Human Rights Created

    Henry Gerber, born Henry Joseph Dittmar, was born in Germany. His family moved to the U.S.A in 1913. He and his family soon moved to Chicago, Illinois. Henry Gerber joined the U.S army around 1913 for three months, when he joined the navy. He returned to the army in 1920, where he remained until 1923. It was in 1923 Germany that Gerber saw the work that was being done in Germany to get homosexual rights. He returned to Chicago and was granted a charter to make the Society For Human Right
  • Sexual Behavior In A Male Published

    Alfred Kinsey publishes his booklet Sexual Behavior In A Human Male. In it, his research concludes that 60% of males (from the time of adolescence to old age) have delved in homosexual activities and do not consider themselves homosexuals.
  • The Lavender Scare

    The order that led to the Lavender Scare was set in action on December 15, 1950 by President Dwight Eisenhower. Senator Joseph Mccarthy is said to have inspired the order, which declared that homosexuals were a danger to national security as they were prone to blackmail, though no real evidence of this happening has been found. This announcement combined with the Public Service Announcements of the time that declared homosexuals to be perverted and mentally ill ended in thousands of homosexual
  • American Psychiatric Association And Homosexuality

    The American Psychiatric Association lists homosexuality as a mental disorder in their manual under the heading, STANDERED NOMECLAUTURE, as SEXUAL DEVIATION, on page seven.
  • Executive Order 1045

    President Dwight Eisenhower signs into effect Executive Order 1045, banning homosexuals from working in federal government. April 27, 1953.
