He began making improper laws like forcing non US citizens out of the country, making a curfew for everyone under the age of 20 (considering the class of 2017 was raging), etc. -

There was a short period of time where the country didn't have a leader to represent us. In that time period our government was figuring out the best way to function. They decided on a democracy. The people would elect a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.
