Gets married
Marley marries Rita Anderson, a soul singer with "The Soulettes." -

Island Records
The band sign to island Records and release their album "Catch a Fire." -
One Love Peace Concert
Marley holds the "One Love Peace Concert" in Kingston. Symbolically and literally bringing Jamaican political rivals together to shake hands on stage. -
Central Park collapse
Marley collapses in Central Park whilst jogging. Doctors discover that the cancer has spread to his liver, lungs and brain. -
Death
Marley dies in a hospital on the 11th of May.
