The stock of the New York Stock exchange was less than a fifth of its peak in 1929, banks were failing, businesses were closing, the farmers income drop at 50 percent, and by 1932 every one of four Americans were unemployed. The post of WWI hurt the U.S dramatically. This is significant because this will give the purpose for America to go into isolation. -
Adolf Hitler Appointed Chancellor of Germany
Hitler made a 360 change in Germany the government created a policy that focused on people that incorported of ethnic germans living outside the german borders; german dominance over western Europe. This is important because Hitler will be one of the cause of World War 2. -

The New Deal
The New Deal was a set of federal programs launched by President Franklin D.Roosevelt, as a response to the calamity of the Great Depression. This New Deal had four main goals which were to recover the economy with stabilizing banks and cleaning up the financial mess left over in 1929. Job creation the New Deal created multiple agencies to provide jobs for all the unemployed americans. Increasing public works and civic uplift were also included to help rebuild America out of their isolation. -
Four Power Pact
The Four Power Pact was a treaty between Germany, Great Britain, Italy, and France so they all can collaborate powers serving European peace. Trying to keep the goal of appeasement, so they would have to start a war. This is significant because the other countries were trying to keep the peace with Germany/Hitler so this shows that they tried to stick to the appeasement policies. -
Appeasement Policy towards Germany
This policy was put in placed to avoid conflict with all of the nations, Great Britain, France, Italy and the United States all tried to avoid conflict with Hitler in Germany so they wouldn't have another war. The soldiers of Great Britain were fighting throughout the whole World war 1, United States were in a depression and were required to be isolated, and Germany didn't have a army or anything to really back them up. This is significant because they never wanted another war. -

Hitler repeatedly violated the Treaty of Versatile
The Treaty of Versatile was placed so Germany would rebuild their army. Hitler first time violating this treaty is when Germany decided to created an armed forces, trying to build his army in secret. In 1935 Hitler also openly held a huge rearmament rally.Then surprisingly Hitler decided to reintroduced conscription, and began to pump huge sums into germanys armed forces. Germany wants to destroy the Treaty of Versatile. This is important no matter what Germany stick to being aggressive. -
Anglo-German naval agreement
This is an agreement between Great Britain and German which allowed Germany to build and expand their navy. This is significant because Great Britain put this agreement in action because they wanted to better their relationship with Germany and keep the peace with them. -
First Neutrality Act
This act is base on prohibiting the export of arms, ammunition, and tools of war from the United States to foreign nations at war. Yet this rule/law that was in placed starts to change due to the fact that the United States were trying compromise with the other nations by lifting the arms embargo by using a method called "cash and carry". This is significant because go from complete isolation to starting to become neutral and letting things side. -
Panay incident
The Panay incident was a Japanese attack on the American ship while it was anchored . Even though Japan and the United States were not at war. This significant because now the United States start to become more involved and getting pull into the war. -
Munich Agreement Pact
Great Britain establish a agreement with Germany giving them the opportunity to extend their territory into parts of Czechoslovakia where the majority of German speaking people were. France also signed this agreement to appease Germany. This is significant because not only are the other nations letting them gain territory even though they are are taking advantage of Great Britain by abusing the power. -
Hitler invading Poland
Germany invaded Poland to gain mass and territory and this is one of the causes of World War 2. This is significant because Hitler was getting everything he asked for yet he takes advantage and starts a new war. -
Great Britain & France declared war with Germany
Great Britain and France declared war on Germany because Hitler decided to invade Poland and they were trying keep the appeasement goal but Germany kept overriding their privileges also Great Britain and France gave Hitler a deadline to back down and leave Poland and that deadline expired giving the allied side a reason to declare war on Germany. -
Cash and Carry Policy
This policy allowed nations that were at war to buy nonmilitary goods from the United States if it was paid for in advance n cash and carried away on ships not under United States registry. In the Atlantic this benefited Britain and France leaning America towards the allied side. -
Lend Lease Act
Lend Lease was an act that means the United States provided their military aid to foreign nations during World War 2 and this act authorized the president to transfer arms or any other defensive tools then Congress would give money to "the government of any country whose dense the President deems vital to the defense of the United States". Such as Great Britain,the Soviet Union,China and Brazil. -
Japan attacked Pearl Harbor
America officially enters World War 2 when Japan had a surprise military strike on Pearl Harbor against the American naval base because of the Japanese tried to take over more territory and America wasn't having it so they blocked all trade with Japan materials such as steel,fuel and etc. Then America declared war on Japan. This is significant because the United States finally gets pulled into the war when they tried to stick to the goals of appeasement and isolation. -
Battle of Midway
Major turning point because this was one of the United States victory, it set the Japanese soldiers into a full retreat. This is significant because America was trying to stay out of things yet now they took a victory of this battle giving them access into the war. -
D-Day
Is when the Normandy landings were operations. The Allied forces attacked German forces on the coast of Normandy,France and with that being said the Allies gained a victory which became a turning point for World War 2. This is significant because the allied forces (Great Britain and etc) had enough with Hitler so they fight back and take a victory. -
Atomic Bomb
The United States dropped a nuclear bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki leading the Japanese to surrender. This is significant because the United states is involved and not playing around their fighting to win and nothing less which is the complete opposite mind set they had little more than 7 years ago. -
Japan finally surrenders
Japan finally decides to surrender because of the destruction of the atomic bombs the United States dropped on their territory destroying everything in the way. This is significant because the United States is now a conqueror.
