    Adolf Hitler goes through with his threat and invades poland with over 2000 tanks and 1000 planes. Poland surrenders on September 27th, 1939.

    Hitler launched his blitzkrieg against Holland and Belgium. Both of the countries were quickly defeated and occupied. This was the beginning of Hitlers powerful and destructive way to win in battle.

    Hitler sent 3 million soldiers and over 3,000 tanks into Russia. The Russians were taken by surprise because they had signed a treaty with Germany in 1939. Russia then signed a mutual assistance treaty with Britain and launched an Eastern front battle against Germany.

    Japenese fighter planes and submarines launched a suprise attack on pearl harbor which claimed the lives of many americans. this attack was completely unexpected as we were in talks of peace with japan at the time of attack.

    The allies launched an attack on Germany’s forces in Normandy, Western France.Thousands of transports carried an invasion army to the beaches to fight.The Germans who had been fed false information about a landing near Calais, rushed troops to the area but were unable to prevent the allies from pushing forward.

    The German leader, Adolf Hitler committed suicide in his bombproof shelter after learning defeat was certain.

    German forces in Italy surrendered to the Allies, along with forces in Germany 2 days later

    The Japanese generals refused to surrender. The US dropped an atomic bomb on the island of Hiroshima, and 3 days later a second was dropped.
