    The Rape of Nanking, also known as the Nanjing Massacre, was a massacre committed by Japanese troops against the residents of Nanjing. The event happened in January of 1938. The purpose of this attack was to make sure the city of Nanking was destroyed.
  • Battle of the Atlantic

    Battle of the Atlantic
    The Battle of the Atlantic was when both the Allie Powers and the Axis Powers over control of the Atlantic Ocean. The battle was labeled as the longest battle of World War II that lasted from September 3, 1939 to May 8, 1945. The Allies ended up becoming victorious but both sides suffered. They both lost many men and multiple soldiers while fighting. Even though the Allie Powers won and gained control over the Atlantic Ocean, they still lost multiple ships and men.

    The Fall of Paris, also known as the Battle of France, was an invasion that happened from May 10 to June 25, 1940. The invasion included the Germans attacking France. The reason why Germany decided to invade France, was because France declared war on Germany on September 3, 1939.

    The Battle of Stalingrad was one of the biggest conflicts of the Second World War. The battle took some place in 1942 to February 2, 1943. The battle consisted of Germany invading the Soviet Union trying to take over. The battle ended up in the Soviets protecting their city and holding Hitler and the Germans.

    The Wannsee Conference was a meeting between of government officials of Nazi Germany and Schutzstaffel leaders that was held in Berlin. The meeting was held on January 20, 1942. The meeting was to find the "final solution to the Jewish question." This resulted in creating extermination camps involving the Jews where the gas chambers were built to kill more people.

    The Bombing of Dresden was an American and British bombing that targeted a city of Germany, Dresden. The bombing was from February 13, 1945 to February 15, 1945. This attack happened because the British and Americans wanted to warn Russia so they wouldn't stray away from the agreements they made at the conferences. They also wanted to show the power of the Allies power and also destroy a city in Nazi Germany.

    The Battle of Iwo Jima, was one of the major battle that occured in World War II between the United States and the Imperial Japanese army. This battle started on February 19, 1945 and lasted until March 26, 1945. The purpose of this battle was for the United States to capture the island which ended up being successful on their part.

    The Potsdam Declaration, also known as the Potsdam Conference, was a conference that was held in Cecilienhof, Germany. This conference lasted from July 17, 1945 to August 2, 1945. This conference was when the three leaders, Josef Stalin, Winston Churchill.and Harry Truman came together to discuss the end of World War II. This conference did indeed end the Second World War and brought peace between the countries.
