  • Treaty Of Versailles

    The Treaty of Versailles was created as a peace treaty after World War I. The treaty required Germany to take sole responsibility for the war, pay up to 6600 million pounds of war reparations, decrease its military and land from Germany was given to other counties.
    Germany was upset as it believed that this treaty was being too harsh on Germany.
  • Fascist Italy

    Italy appointed Benito Mussolini, a Facist Leader, their Prime Minister due to his popularity in the promise to bring order to Italy. He called himself "a leader" and took over the normal Italian society making it a totalitarian state.

    Military leaders were trying to take control over Japan. There was a surprise attack on Manchuria by the Chinese. Japan asked The League of Nations for help but they failed to help, leading Japan to quit the League. Due to the failure of the League of Nations, Hitler pulled Germany out the League as well.

    In January, Hitler was appointed chancellor (Prime Minister). Later, Hitler announced that he will hold the full power of Nazi Germany. Also, during this year one of the 1st concentration camps were established

    After World War 1, the countries of Europe did not want another war. When countries such as Italy and Germany became violent and began to take over the nearby countries. Britain and France hoped to keep peace through appeasement. This meant that they gave in their demands. They hoped that by meeting his demands he would be satisfied and there wouldn't be any war. But this only encouraged Hitler's demands

    Since Germany was taking back all the land that was lost through violence. Britain, France, Germany, and Italy agreed on that Sudenland (Western Czechoslovakia) would be returned to Germany on the condition that Germany would not make any more territorial claims. Even though Hitler signed this agreement, he later broke it
