    Treaty of Versailles
    The Treaty of Versailles was a document that Germany had to sign in result to the war ending. The treaty included many contingencies, many were unfair. Germany had to accept the blame for starting World War One, pay 6,600 million pounds in damages caused by the war, and had to reduce military forces to a small army and six naval ships, nothing else. Additionally, The Rhineland area was to be de-militarised. Finally, land was to be taken away from Germany and given to other countries.

    Benito Mussolini takes over Italy
    Benito Mussolini had the vendetta of "Restoring Italy to its former position as a world power." His plan worked and he rose to power in 1922, after forcing the current king to make him Prime Minister via threats to overthrow.

    After being appointed by the Government,Stalin only had to wait for Lenin to die to have full control. Once Lenin died in 1924, Joseph was appointed as Lenin's successor and had complete control over the Soviet Union and the Communist Party.

    After being imprisoned for the Beer Hall Putsch, Hitler went to jail at the Landsberg prison. In prison, Hitler finished writing his book, "My Struggle," or "Mein Kampf." The book set forth the basic beliefs of Nazism that became the plan of action for the Nazi Party. This would later allow Hitler to become Chancellor of Germany.

    Adolf Hitler won the country over by promising economic stability to the unemployed Germans during the Great Depression. He became Chancellor soon after because Germany needed a solution to their problem.

    The Treaty of Versailles required the de-militarization of the Rhineland. Hitler's rearming was the first step in many to invading other countries, as well as to take Belgium easier.

    In 1936, Germany signs a treaty with Italy and Japan. The treaty is known as the Tripartite Pac and made Germany, Italy, and Japan allies. They would later fight together in World War 2.

    Hideki Tojo was a General in the Japanese army, known for his extensive military success in battle. Hideki would later be appointed Prime Minster of Japan and serve as an Axis power in World War 2.

    The Failure of the League of Nations
    The League of Nations was implemented by the Treaty of Versailles by Woodrow Wilson. Problems started to arise after the Treaty was signed. These problems included the fact that not all countries joined the League, the League had no power, the League had no army, and the League only met 4 times a year, which made them unable to act quickly.
  • World War 2 begins

    Due to the failure of many safe-locks, Britain and France declared war on Germany in retaliation to Germany invading Poland. Countries that has similar agendas banded together to create the Allied powers and the Axis powers. After the war concluded, the total deaths caused from this war alone are between 50 to 80 million people.
