    13th amendment
    ratified on December 6th, 1865 this was a very influential amendment as it freed all slaves allowing them to live mostly as free people. This did have a sad consequence as 6 former confederate soldiers decided to form a group called the kkk and they in disguise would terrorize African Americans.
  • 14th amendment

    14th amendment
    no state shall make any law that should abridge the privliges or immunities of a u.s. citizen a consequence of this was it made african americans citizens which gave them the rights to not be slaves and basically the same rights as any other human.
  • 1st enforcement act

    1st enforcement act
    the 1st enforcement act banned people from banding together and or disguising together with the intention of violating another u.s citizens rights what this intended to do was stop the violence on African American voters so they could actually vote an unintended consequence was it actually didnt most people like the kkk did not fear this act as they already had the police chiefs on their side and would not be punished for commiting this violence

    15th amendment
    The 15th amendment states ¨The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude¨ what it did was allow people of color to vote and a consequence of this was that radical republican candidates wererecieving far more cotes as African Americans did not want to fall back into slavery

    2nd enforcment act
    the second enforcement act allowed federal marshalls to patrol and monitor the polls to make more fair elections as the kkk and other groups were attacking black voters so this was intended to stop that a unintended consequence was more republican votes
  • 3rd enforcement act

    3rd enforcement act
    the third and last enforcement act enabled the president to use the full force of the u.s army to any individual who conspires against the equal rights of all its citizen an unintended consequence of this was the kkk threatening to make a army of itself to combat the soldiers that they were sending to take them out
  • The Civil Rights Act of 1875

    The Civil Rights Act of 1875
    what this did was it ensured African Americans got equal rights in public transportation and public accommodations and service on juries a consequence of this was that African American crime rate dropped as they could no longer be blamed for stupid things or things they didnt do just because the jury didnt like them this made the judicial system much more fair and was probably the most important change in this act
