    The 13th Amendment is when African Americans can no longer be slaves. This caused white southerners to create the Black Code.

    This amendment ensures that the people born in America receive those American civil rights. This is good for African Americans because they will have all of the rights when they are born in America.
  • 1st Enforcement Act

    1st Enforcement Act
    This act was a crime to interfere with citizens' right to vote. This act tried to sure up African Americans' freedom in the south.
  • 2nd Enforcement Act

    2nd Enforcement Act
    This act is for federal elections and must be supervised by federal marshals. If they do not supervise, there could be a brawl.
  • 15th Amendment

    15th Amendment
    This amendment allows African American men to vote. This means that African American women can not vote.
  • Ku Klux Klan Act

    Ku Klux Klan Act
    This is the Ku Klux Klan Act. This act outlawed the activities of the KKK. The KKK still tried to do harmful activities.
  • Civil Rights Act of 1875

    Civil Rights Act of 1875
    This bill guaranteed African Americans equal treatment in public transportation, accommodations, and services on juries. This prohibited racism, but it still tended to happen after this act.
