Carmen Miranda was born February 9th 1909 in Marco de Canaveses, Portugal. Her family was Catholic. -
Singing Career
1928 she became a singing superstar in Brazil. With a singing era she eventually made her way to the film world. Her debut in Brazilian documentary in 1933. 2 years later she performed in her first feature film “Alo, Alo, Brasil in 1935. -
Parents Death
She was the second oldest child of José Maria Pinto da Cunha her dad from (17 February 1887-21 June 1938) he was only 51. Maria Emília Miranda her mom from (10 March 1886-9 November 1971) she was 85. -
Her music
In 1939 Carmen continued to make popular hits in Brazil like "South American Way" on the 26th of December. The latter film would be her last in her home country. In late 1939 Carmen arrived, with much fanfare in New York. She is ready to capture Americans’ hearts with her talent -
That Night in Rio

Spingtime in the rockies
In 1942 she starred in “Springtime in the Rockies” with Betty Grable and Cesar Romero both whom she has worked with before. Shortly after america began to wear/adopt her clothing style. One of her songs called Chattanooga Choo Choo. -

In 1944 she directors saw her in her three films “Somthing for the Boys”, “For Jills in a Jeep”, and “Greenwich Village”. The first two of the films did well at the box-office and the other on got desired. It was her last busy in film -
Nancy Goes to Rio
Carmen made one film in 1945, 1946, 1947, and 1948 and she didn’t make another film in 2 years. In 1950 she made one other film called “Nancy Goes to Rio” it was a production for MGM. Then not making another film for a couple years she made one in 1953 called “Scared Stiff”. -
Scared Stiff
After that she was still busy singing on nightclub circuit and appearing on a relatively a new medium of television. “Scared Stiff” was last and final performance on the silver screen. -

Death
On August 4, 1955 she went to a party (she did no drinking or smoking). That next morning August 5th 1955 she had suffered from a fatal heart attack. She was only 46 years old. Her body got flown to her adopted country Brazil where her death was declared -
Musem in her honor
She is considered to be an ancestor to Brazil’s Tropicalismo cultural movement in the 1960’s. Later on a museum was constructed in Rio de Janeiro in her honor, in 1955 she was the subject of an acclaimed documentary
