As the weather cleared, the Allies were able to use air support and use their full tactics, thus leading to the victory for the Allied forces. -

A German offensive launched towards the end of WWII in Belgium and France. The Germans wanted to split the British and American lines in half to break them apart and destroy them. But the Allied forces came out victorious. -

The United States fought for and captured the island of Iwo Jima from Japan. The main goal was to take control of the three airfields on the island. Known as one of the fiercest battles in the Pacific. -

The largest amphibious assault in the Pacific War. The Allied forces island hopped and took over each island from Japan. They used the island of Okinawa as their base of air operations to attack main land Japan. -
Battle of Berlin
The final major offensive for the Allied forces in Europe. This battle resulted in the suicide of Hitler, the unconditional surrender of Berlin, and an Allied victory. -
Death of Mussolini
Mussolini and his wife were caught attempting to flee Italy with German forces from his own army. They captured them and executed them the following day. He and his wife were put on display after being killed for everyone to see. -
Death of Hitler
Hitler committed suicide by gunshot in his bunker in Berlin. His wife also poisoned herself along side him. -
VE-Day
Victory in Europe Day. This day is when the Nazi's surrendered unconditionally to the Allied forces, ending Adolf Hitler's Third Reich. -
Bombing of Hiroshima
After the Japanese Empire denied the surrender offer from the Allied forces, the United States dropped the Little Boy atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima in Japan. -
Bombing of Nagasaki
The United States dropped the second atomic bomb on the city of Nagasaki to ensure that Japan would surrender. Also to let the world know that we had more than one atomic weapon and could do a lot more harm. -
Japan Surrenders
After the atomic bombings, Japan signed the Japanese Instrument of Surrender, thus ending WWII.
