  • Pennsylvania Association for Retarded Citizens (PARC) v. PENNSYLVANIA https://disabilityjustice.org/right-to-education/

    PARC believed that C.W.P was to provide all students with free public education including those that are MR & to not deny them. They declared MR students could attain an education & do benefit from it. It was resolved on 10/8/71 court ruling free education for all students. Results form case: The state was to evaluate students for proper placement, provide proof of available programs, financial plans & teacher recruitment & training to provide education. This case paved the road for FAPE & IDEA.
