Civil War
The civil war was fought from1861 to 1865.the cause of the civil war was years and years of the north and south disagreeing. The main issues of the war were about ending slavery and the rights of the states. a few months after Abraham Lincoln was elected some southern states came together to make the confederate states. The southern stated had many more victories over the north until Gettysburg in 1863.after that battle the south surrendered in April 1865. -
15th amendment
The 15th amendment stated that citizens of the united states could vote no matter what race or color you were. -

Emmett till was beaten to death then murdered on august 28 1955.he was murdered because he told a white woman goodbye after he left a store. After that he was told to leave town and to not ever come back. Emmett did not leave town and a week later was kidnapped and beaten to death then his body was thrown in the the Tallahatchie river. -

On December 1 1955 Rosa Parks got off work and was riding the bus when the driver told the black people to move to the back so the white people could sit in the front and she said no. After that she started boycotting the bus company. Weeks later the court ruled that the black and white people could sit anywhere they wanted on the busses. -
