The Battle of Inchon was an amphibious invasion during the Korean War. The operation involved some 75,000 troops and 261 naval ships becoming the fifth largest amphibious landing in history. -
Taken Pyongyang
After the overly successful lading at Inchon UN soldiers storm the North Korean capital of Pyongyang. Many believe the war is over so many make preparations to leave. -

Talk of Peace
Neither side gaining any ground, peace talks begin. It takes two years to come to an agreement. -
General MacArthur is fired.
After General MacArthur publicly disagrees with President Truman about whether or not to launch nukes to Manchuria, MacArthur is fired. Bombing China might have led to a much bigger war. -
Battle of Heartbreak Ridge
The U.N are in a battle with North Korean and Chinese troops in a part of South Korea known as the Punchbowl; for it is a giant valley with flat land surrounded by mountains. The U.N win the month-long battle. Over 25,000 Chinese and North Korean soldiers die. -
New President Eisenhower
Eisenhower is elected president after tough battle between him and other candidate Adlai Stevenson. During his Campaign he said that he would end the Korean war. -
Truce
North Korea and South Korea sign an agreement to stop fighting. The two countries agree to create a neutral zone called the Demilitarized Zone to separate the countries. -
U.N fail to unite Korea.
Representatives from the U.S and China meet in Geneva to talk about uniting Korea. However, the countries couldn't come to an agreement so Korea still sits divided.
