Soon after WWII The Soviet Union was spreading communism into Asia. China fell to communism. This was a huge step for communism because of how latge China is. The USA wanted to stop it before it got to Korea. -

North Korea and communism stormed into South Korea wanting to make the country whole again, but South Korea and the US didn't want another country to fall to communism. -

The USA did a good job of pushing the 38th parrallel back to where it was before. This also drove China back into their own country. -

General Douglas MacArthur was a highly skilled army officer. He wanted to drop another atomic bomb on North Korea, but he didn't have that much power. -
End of the War
The war had stopped in 1953. But nothing was really settled. The 38th Parrallel was barley moved from where it was before, and Korea was still North and South. -
