Yalta Agreement
During the last months of World War Two, leaders of the U.S, Soviet Union, and Great Britain met at a small resort on the Black Sea called Yalta. They drew an agreement about how to cooperate and put the world back together after Germany and Japan were defeated. -

Domino Theory
North Korea becamea communist nation allied with the Soviet Union while South Korea became a western style democracy allied with the United States. The United States supported the new South Korea. They believed that if any additional country in Southeast Asia became communist others would quickly follow. -

Kim Jong-On
Kim Jong-On is the current supreme leader of North Korea. He has held the titles of the First Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Chairman of the Central Military Commission, First Chairman of the National Defence Commission of North Korea, the Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, and also a presidium member of the Central Politburo of the Workers' Party of Korea. He was officially declared the supreme leader on December 28th 2011. -
Soviet Union
When the war ended, the UNited State and Soviet Union had very different goals. They had seen many of its cities destroyed and millions of its citizens had been killed and its farms and factories destroyed. -
Reason for US involvement in the Koreas.
The US was there to stop communism from spreading from North Korea to South Korea. The Us was there to support Southern Korea.
