Amir's birth
"...Winter of 1964, just one year after my mother died giving birth to me"(6). That was when amir was born and became Baba's son. That was also when Amir's mother died giving birth to him. -
Hassan's birth
"It was there, in that little shack, that Hassan was born in the winter of 1964..."(6). That was when Hassan was born and became Amir's half brother. -
Baba built the orphanage
"In the late 1960s, when i was five or six, Baba decided to build an orphanage"(13). that was when Baba build the orphanage to help the orphans. -

Baba and Amir leave afghanistan and go to pakistan.
"it was a pretty lucrative business then, driving people out of shorawi occuiped kabul to the relative safety pakistan"(111). this was the year the russian army invaded afghanistan. that was also the year Baba and Amir left Afghanistan because of the invation. -
Hassan and his family move back with Rahim Khan
"there was a lot of reasons why i went to hazarajat to find Hassan in 1986"(203). that was when Rahim Khan asked Hassan if he could move back with them. It was also when Hassan agreed and moved back with him. -
Hassan's mother comes back
"in early 1990, farzana became pregnant again. it was that same year, in the middle of the summer, that a woman covered in a sky blue burqa knocked on the front gates"(209). in that year a really hurt woman knocked on the front door of the house. later it was discovered that she was Hassan's mother. -
The northern alliance takes over kabul in afghanistan
"Rahim Khan told me how when the northern alliance took over kabul between 1992 and 1996"(199). when Amir went to visit Rahim Khan, Rahim told him about every thing that happened in Kabul after Amir left. -
Mujahedin forces shower Kabul, afghanistan with rockets
"...the same mountains from which Mujahedin forces had showered Kabul with rockets 1992 and 1996"(245). in that year the Mujahedin forces sropped rockets on Kabul where Amir used to live. -
Sohrab goes to the hospital
"...An april 1996 issue of time" this was when sohrab got really hurt and went to the hospital. -
Sohrab and Amir arrive back to america
"We arrived home about seven months ago, on a warm day in august 2001"(357). That was the time when Amir and Sohrab returned to america from afghanistan. -
Rahim Khan calls Amir and asks him to come to pakistan
"One day last summer, my friend Rham Khan called from pakistan. he asked me to come see him"(1). This was when Rahim Khan asked Amir to come see him. Sothat he can tell him about what happened in afhanistan and also so he could make Amir go save Sohrab.
