    Strube Grandparent's Marriage
Both of my grandparents were raised in strict Catholic homes where everything revolved around Catholic traditions. I know my grandparents believed in hard work, family, traditions, and patriotism. My grandmother raised their seven children while my grandfather provided for the family as a farmer.

    Mikeska Grandparent's Marriage
Both of my grandparents were only chiildren and were raised on cattle ranches. My grandparents were both educators and took jobs in far West Texas. They practiced the Lutheran faith but often could not attend services because there were no Lutheran churches in their area. My grandparents were more frivolous with their finances beacuse they did not live through the Great Depression like my maternal grandparents.
  • Mom's Birth

    Mom's Birth
My mother was raised in a very stable home environment. She lived on the same farm and attended the same school all through her childhood. She was a cradle Catholic and has never missed mass. It was an unspoken understanding that my mother and all of her siblings would attend college because her parents never had the opportunity. My mother learned from an early age the value of hard work by chopping in the cotton fields.
  • Dad's Birth

    Dad's Birth
My dad was 4th of 5 children. He was raised in a home that moved frequently because of his father's science teaching credentials and spent the majority of his free time playing at his grandparents. He was baptized Lutheran but often did not practice his faith. My father attended ASU but was unable to complete his degree due to finances. As a child he was not taught a work ethic, but as an adult, he learned quickly how imprtant it was and became a succesful carpenter owning his own company.
  • Parent's Wedding

    Parent's Wedding
My parents, Scott and Clair, married. They dated for 4 years prior and were high school sweethearts who never dated anyone else but each other. My dad respected my mother's religion and values and chose to become a Catholic. My mother became an educator and started teaching at the age of 20.
  • My Birth

    My Birth
I am the youngest child in my family. I have one older brother. I am a cradle Catholic and like my mother, I never miss mass.
  • Sports

    Sports
This is when I started playing sports. Sports have always played a huge roles in my life. My father was always by my side as my coach. Growing up, it was always important that we stayed active and busy. Soccer did that all the way until I was 18. I believe it helped me to learn to work with others, make positive choices, and not follow negative influences.
  • Education

    Education
This was the start of my education as a Kindergartener. Along with relgion and sports, efducation was a very important part of my life. I was expected to pay attention and work hard. Bad grades were not acceptable. There were times I would get so angry with my parents for making sure I was always on top of my schooling, but later in life I learned why!
  • High School Graduation

    High School Graduation
I graduated from Central High and immediately started college. In my family, college was not a choice. I grew up with many educators' influences on my life and it was an easy choice for me to choose the career path of being a teacher. I knew I wanted to work to make a difference in children's lives. I was blessed with two parents who paid my way through college (or else they would not give me my car or pay for my wedding). This was also the time in my life when I met Jeff Hunt.

    College Graduation
I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Angelo State University.
  • Marriage

    Marriage
I married the love of my life and my best friend, Jeff Hunt. Jeff's religious background was Baptist. During our years of dating and our engagement, we both agreed the we would marry in the Cathollic church and raise our children with Catholic beliefs. Jeff also grew up loving sports. He played football from a very young age. Jeff''s family did not hold education to the standards that my parents did. Jeff did attend college for a short time but soon left to persue a career in the oil industry.

    Career
I started my teaching career in elementary education. The teacher in the picture with me was my mentor my first year and taught 8 years with me.
  • Son's Birth

    Son's Birth
My son, Ryler, was born. We are raising him with many of the traditions and values that we were raised with: religion, sports, and the value of education. He was baptized in the Catholic church and participates regularly in mass and religios classes. He is very active in soccer, football, baseball, basketball, and golf. Like his daddy, he is a avid outdoorsman and loves to hunt and fish. Ryler has a clear understanding of our expectations as a student. He knows it importance.
  • Daughter's Birth

    Daughter's Birth
My daughter, Keezley, was born. We will continue with the same traditions and values that we are instilling in Ryler.
