Middle School
Ayla is transitioning from middle school to high school and is trying to fit in as much as possible. Eriksons's fourth stage is industry vs. inferiority. The crisis is between Ayla being adopted and feels no one likes her, so she has a hard time making friends (inferiority) and Ayla wanting to change her path and become successful and likable in high school (industry). -
College
Ayla is in college and has recently started dating. Her boyfriend, Erik, and her are in a committed relationship that they enjoy. Erikson's sixth psychosocial stage is intimacy vs. isolation. The crisis is between Ayla starting to fall in love with Erik because he treats her right and has helped her better herself in life (intimacy), but because of her abandonment issues with being adopted she's having a hard time fully opening up to Erik because she's scared he might leave her (isolation). -
Motherhood
Ayla has had her first child, Jax, who is 3. She claims that Jax is the biggest blessing she's ever been given. Erikson's seventh stage of psychosocial is generativity vs. stagnation. The crisis is between Ayla loving her son unconditionally, providing for him, and giving him the right amount of discipline for being successful (generativity) and feeling like she's not doing enough as a mom because of her childhood (stagnation).
