The Khmer empire falls
Vietnam invades Khmer and defeats the great empire after repeated attacks. Modern day Cambodia established over Khmer. -
Angkor is rediscovered
French archaeologist Henri Mouhot discovers the temples and cities of Angkor, unearthing the ancient phenomenon and beginning the task of revealing it's many stories and secrets. -
Khmer empire founded
After uniting many smaller states into one empire, Jayarvarman II is crowned. King Jayarvarman spent his rule expanding the borders of his new empire.
