Beginning of the Khmer Empire
The Khmer Empire started in 802 CE, it was the start of an empire that would last for another 500 years. King Jayavarman II was the founder of the empire and built it's foundation. -

The Bakheng Temple was built during the time of King Yasovarman I. It is dedicated to the Hindu God, Shiva, the destroyer. -

16 May 928-16 May 942, Dates of his reign. A lot of people think that he did not have a legitimate reason to claim the throne. Therefore, he was called the usurper king. -
