Reign of Suryavarman I
After a decade of war against rival groups Suryavarman gains the throne. HE expands Ankor's territory and starts to construct the West Baray. The reservior is five miles long ( 8.0467 km) and 1.5 miles wide (2.4140 km). The Reservior still is working today. -

Jayavarman VII is thought as one of the greatest kings of Khmer. Khmer was getting torn by civil war and losses of battle against Champa, a place which is now known as Vietnam. -

The empire reaches its greatest extent under Jayavarman VII
The Khmer empire reaches it's greatest extent under the king Jayavarman II. He built a wall that surrounds Ankor Thom with the Bayon temple in the centre.He declares Mahayana Buddhism the state religion. -
Jayavarman II declared universal monarch.
Jayavarman II unifies rival groups and on the land where Angkor while soon to rise, places his capital Hariharalaya. The ruins of Hariharalaya are known as the Rulous Group.
