Jayavarman II was a local ruler from Vyadhapura who was forced to make peace between the competing states. He founded the Khmer Empire and was regarded as a hero to the locals in Cambodia. -
Rajendravarman builds Banteay Srei Temple.
This king came from a noble background and campaigned against his enemies in Thailand. This gave him popularity with the civilians. Even though he followed Shiva, he respected Buddism and built new temples. During his reign, the Angkor prospered. -
