Key International Treaties of WW1

  • Armistice

    After the abdication of Kaiser Wilhelm ||, the new German government signed an armistice with the Allied forces, which formally ended all conflict on the Western Front.
  • Treaty of Versailles

    Ended the state of war between Germany and most of the Allied forces. The treaty gave a portion German territory to neighbouring countries, including their overseas colonies.
  • Treaty of Saint-Germain

    Formally dissolved the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
  • Treaty of Neuilly

    Treaty between Bulgaria and the Allied Powers, requiring Bulgaria to cede land to Greece and Yugoslavia.
  • Treaty of Trianon

    An agreement between the Allied Forces and Hungary which formally ended WW1.
  • The Treaty of Sevres

    Signed between the Allied Powers and the Ottoman Empire. The treaty formally abolished the Ottoman Empire and ceded a large portion of it's land to France, the UK, Italy and Greece.
  • Treaty of Lausanne

    Signed at Lausanne, Switzerland after 7 months of negotiations, recognising the border of Turkey, after the abolition of the Ottoman Empire.
