Battles of Lexington and Concord
This was the first military engagement of the american revolution. These battles were fought, in Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, Menotomy (which is now Arlington in present day.) And lastly, Cambridge. This battle is what caused the outbreak between britain and the 13 colonies. -
Dorchester Heights.
Groups of men from the Continental army, filled dorchester heights under George washintons orders. They hid in the hills with a perfect veiw of Boston and its harbour, Also had cannons set up to fire if needed. -
Declaration of Independence.
The Declaration was written by Thomas Jefferson. It was a document stating why the Colonies chose to take place as a seperate nation. They acused Great Britain of bein guilty of 27 abuses. This document was signed by 56 people. (Fun fact: this is where the term put your John Hancock on it came from!) -
Battle of Saratoga
This battle was considered a major turning point during the American Revolution. It was a crucial victory for the patriots. This was the battle that convinced france to go up against britain aswell. This war began so they could control upstate New York and isolate New England from the Southern Colonies. This was an attempt to end the American Revolution. This battle is recognized as one of the 15 most decisive battles in world history. -
Treaty of Alliance.
This was France and Us's Alliance they formed against Britian. This alliance was negotiated between Benjamin Franklin, Silas Deane, And Arthur Lee. Both countries wanted to agree to a seperate peace with britain. -
Battle of Monmouth
George Washington moves army across delaware river with goal of attacking General Sir Henery Clinton. Us arm captures the british, but Cowardice lets them escape. -
Spain Joins as an Ally
Spain has supported the colonies througout the revolution. They helped provide, weapons for battles. Spance was already an Ally with france. -
Kings mountain
This was a battle between patriot and loyalist militias in the southern campaign of the revolution. Patrick Ferguson Went to The loyalist Militia to prottect theflank of Lord Cornwallis' main force. Ferguson tried to get militia to rebel and patriots attacked ferguson in response. the patriots followed ferguson onto kings mountain, and they were suprised attacked by the loyalists. the patriots had to retreat. -
Battle of Yorktown
British forces surrender to George washinton in Yorktown. -
Treaty of Paris
This treaty Ended the AMerican Revolution. It made America, France And Spain become seperate nations.
