Key Events of Revolutionary War and Declaration of Independence

  • Lexington and Concord

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the first battle in the Revolutionary War. It was the shot that started it all. It was when British Troops were marching to Boston to Seize a stockpile of weapons. The Americans won the battle and showed that they had a real army.

    The Second Continental Congress was the new governing body from 1775-1781 after Britain failed to address the issues of the First Continental Congress. It was made to organize the Continental army.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    The Battle of Bunker Hill occurred in Massachusetts when the Americans gained Intel that the British were over the hills surrounding Boston. The American Troops moved to Bunker Hill and the Battle began. The British won this battle over the Americans, but the army left major injuries and casualties among their enemy.
