    Hitler took back lands in Poland which made the appeasement fail. Then England and France declared war on Germany. World War ll had begun.

    Germany bombed Britain from airplanes. Britain said they would never surrender and made it clear, so Hilter called off the attacks to England.

    Hitler broke his alliance with the Soviet Union. The Soviets were not ready for an attack.

    Japan hoped to destroy the entire US Navy to prevent the US from stopping them from attacking South Asia. This event ended the Us’s neutrality.

    The Soviets started to beat the Germans. Russia had a bad winter which made the Germans not have the quick battle they thought they would have.

    The US couldn’t attack Japan directly. They had to move island to island to reach Japan.

    British, Canadians and Americans pushed Germany out of France back into Germany. Then France and the Soviet Union joined with fighting them and surrounded all of Germany. The Germans were about to lose.

    After the war, the Allied Powers decided to make Nazi leaders and soldiers pay for their war crimes. This was the first time the winners of a war have held trials against the leaders of the loosing nation.

    Japan ignored the Us's demand to surrender. President Truman decided to use the atomic bomb to force Japan to surrender without having to invade their entire country. The city Hiroshima was unprepared for the bomb and it caused horrible damage. After two bombings, they surrendered.

    International organization to maintain peace after WW2. They would have the authority to enforce its decisions

    British and Soviet armies were in Germany and were marching on the capital of Berlin. Germany formally surrendered to the Allied nations. Hitler had killed himself because he didn't want to get captured by the Allied nations.
