He found a passageway through the mountains called "Cumberland Gap" that made it easier to get into Kentucky.

    In 1763, there was the French and Indian War. This was a war between the French and Great Brittain over land. The French allied with the Native Americans. After the war ended the British made a promise to the Indians that they would not go any farther than the Appalachian Mountains, but they ended up breaking their promise and started to settle in Kentucky land anyways.

    Daniel Boone was an explorer, pioneer, and many other things. He led many people into Kentucky in which they settled. They settled into a town that they called Boonesborough which is located in what is now Richmond, Kentucky. He even made the trail wider for settlers to bring wagons.
