Emmet Till was murdered in August 1955 for flurting with a white female at a store. The murderers were J.W. Millam and Ray Bryant. They were both sentanced to death. -

Rosa refused to give up her spot on the bus. She was a member of the NAACP at the time. She was arrested and convicted of violation of segregation law. This event sparked an intire boycott event. -
