  • Back Codes

    The black codes were laws to control the free African American. These codes were still not very fair but they were better than before. Like it's illigal for African Americans to own or rent farms.Also the whites go take advantage of their colored workers. Some times if they didnt have a job they would have to arrest them.
    Then the Freedman's Bureau law was passed. This law helped the African Americans with food, clothng, and meds. This one was way better because they could truly be free.
  • The Civil Rights Act of 1866

    The Civil Rights Act of 1866 is to have equality, for the colored to have the same rights as whites do. Andrew Johnson had the chocie to veto or pass the act. He picked vetoing the law and then congress over turned it and made it a law.
  • Reconstruction Act

    The Act was made to make a new constution for the south. Three acts had divided the South. But Tennessee had noth split up with the South. Then the U.S added 6 states.the U.S addded these states Arkansas,North and South Carolina,Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida.
  • 14th Amendment

    the 14th Amendment had said that any persons who is is born in the United States becomes a citizen of the U.S. in the state they were born in. In the costitution it says that the law can't make you be a citizen if you don't wan't to
    This amendment also says that it gives you the option to vote for a president. it also says that the congress enforces the power .
  • 15 Amendment

    The 15th Amendment says that anyone who is a citizen of the U.S can vote. No matter your race color or anything. All U.S citezens have the right to vote.
