Looking their most glamourous as middle schoolers, Katie hung out with friends and took pictures while Navid entertained others in the background at the lunch tables. Their paths had not yet crossed. -
Dana Hills High School
Katie and Navid danced in the school parking lot with friends, but still were relatively unaware of each other. -
Baja - It Begins
Katie and Navid went to Baja California in Mexico with their Marine Ecology class. Navid drew sharpie tattoos on Katie and made her shell bracelets. Katie swallowed a live guppy on a dare in a misguided flirting attempt. When shown this picture, Katie's grandma Rose asked if this was her with one of the natives. -
First Kiss
They attended a friend's little sister's 16th birthday dance party. Katie joined Navid and Joey in her first sneaky sip of vodka. First kiss on the cheek caught on camera - first real kiss to ensue later that evening. -
High School Graduation

Summer Falling In Love
They spent the summer with friends and realized they loved each other's company, but soon had to leave for college. -
Katie Visits Davis
Inspired by love, Katie endured 10 hour train and bus rides to visit Navid in Davis once a month. They biked and spent time in the arboretum. Katie frequently extended her trips, and miraculously didn't do any permanent damage to her grades. -
Copper Joins the Family

Navid Visits Santa Barbara
Navid also made the trek down to Santa Barbara once a month. They hiked and went to parties and ate lots of nachos and were always ecstatic to be together. Goodbyes were always the worst! -
Navid's Friends Visit Santa Barbara
Navid's Davis bros were easily convinced to come and visit the girls at the beach in Santa Barbara. Their great enthusiasm upon arrival always made for fantastic weekend visits. -
Katie's Friends Visit Davis
Katie's awesome friends are troopers, and braved the long train and a questionable craigslist rideshare to visit Davis for Picnic Day. Davis in bloom, great friends, and our first keg stands made for a beautiful weekend visit. -
Katie Goes To England
Katie spent 5 months in England. She excitedly explored the beautiful new country, made friends and visited old ones abroad, but still missed Navid. Inspired by multiple shots of espresso, Navid bought a plane ticket to London and they spent a wonderful week together! This is them at the white cliffs of Dover. -
Navid Graduates with his BA
Aggie Pride! Katie came home from England a week early to celebrate his birthday and graduation! -
A Year Back in Orange County
We all (mostly) go back home, and the same was true for Katie and Navid after college. Katie earned her teaching credential while Navid debated between teaching and purusing a master's in therapy. Chirs, Chelsey, Mike and Mike were the only others in OC - we all were thankful for each other's great company and tried to keep each other sane amidst very large doses of Buffalo Wild Wings, Donate Games, and sticky picky. -
Katie Graduates
Katie walked a year late for her BA so she could walk with her friends. She was also celebrating earning her teaching credential. Navid of course came to support! -
Navid Moves to San Diego
John moved to San Diego while he worked on his MFT at SDSU. Katie and friends were frequent visitors until Katie eventually moved to SD to pursue her master's and teach in City Heights. -
Katie and Navid Move In
They were going to school, got jobs, frequented gay clubs and craft beer bars, rented a house and made a garden. -
Mobley Joins the Family

After seven years of growing together in love and as best friends, Navid proposed to Katie on their anniversary. Yay!
