    Karl Popper had quite a few contributions to the philosophy of science, and was seen as one of the best philosophers of science of the twentieth century. One of the most well known ideas thought up by him is the idea of Falsifiability. Being able to tell real science from non-science and pseudo science by determining if it can be falsifiable or not.

    Logik der Forschung (The Logic of Scientific Discovery) was Poppers first book. First published in 1935, then again in 1959 in English. This is where he first stressed the importance of falsifiability.

    These two books were considered among his major works. In 1946, when Popper took a teaching job at The London School of Economics, until he retired in 1969. In this time he released both of these books.
  • The Poverty of Historicism (1957)

    Another book written by Karl Popper, at first as a paper but then a year later published as a book. It was dedicated “In memory of the countless men and women of all creeds or nations or races who fell victim to the fascist and communist belief in Inexorable Laws of Historical Destiny.” This book dives in to Popper criticizing historicism in great detail. Along with the negative effects of historicist ideals.
