Sir Karl Raimund Popper was born to a Jewish family in Vienna, Austria on July 28, 1902. -
Studies
Popper studied mathematics, physics, and psychology at the university of Vienna, and graduated with his doctorate in psychology in 1928 -
Major Works
Popper is best known for his first book "The Two Fundamental Problems of the Theory of Knowledge" and "Logik der Forscung" which contested the Vienna Circles basic concepts but opened doors for Popper because it sparked their interest.

Contributions
Popper showed interest in distinguishing between science and other activities but never supported the idea of non-science activities were meaningless. He disapproved of Pseudo-science and believed that the fundamental feature of a scientific theory should be falsifiable. Major Work: Open Society and Its Enemies
Popper emigrated to New Zealand to start a lectureship at Canterbury University. Popper stayed in NZ until after World War II and published "Open Society and its Enemies" in 1945. This work of his argues that the spirit of free, critical inquiry that governs scientific investigation should also be applied to politics. -

Moving to Britain
Popper spent the rest of his days living in Britain after obtaining a readership at the London School of Economics. He was made a fellow of the Royal Society and the British Academy, a Membre de I'Institute de France, and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 1965. -
