Lincolns Assasination
Abraham Lincoln was assasinated in Fords Theater. John Wilkes Booth was the killer. That meant he could not acomplish pardoning the south and allowing them to come back into the union. -
The Black Code Laws
The Black Code Laws were passed in 1866. It was a law that would limit the rights of blacks who lived in the south. They were basicly codes based on old slave codes to keep blacks in conditions close to slavery. -
The Literacy Tests
The literacy tests the test you had to take in order to vote. You had to take a test on the Constitution. That was there for every one. -
The Jim Crow Laws
The Jim Crow Laws were passed allowing southern states segragation to seperate the different colored races. That made it so they couldnt use the same drinking fountans and bathrooms.
Blacks were given less freedom than whites. -
Plessy v. Ferguson
They ruled that segragation was legal as long as African Americans had access toSeperate but Equal facilties. This I believe was not equal nor fair. -
The poll tax
The poll tax made it so people had to pay to vote. It made it unfair for the poor. -
The 14th Amendment
This amendment granted citezenship for every one. I believe this made the Economy stronger. -

This amendment gave black males the right to vote. This also let the black men to run in the elections. -
The Grandfather Clause
This allowed the wight male to get by the poll tax when they voted. If their Grandfather or father voted then they didnt have to pay. -
