Teachers also wrote their own textbooks during this time that closely aligned with what their values were. -

Mary Lyon, a female educational pioneer, founded the first all female school. Woman were constantly told they weren't allowed to attend school. Gender equality is still prevalent today, It is important to see that even back then women were fighting for their place in society and this school opening established for us women in the future that we deserve an education. -

Gave the working class immigrants a chance to acclimate to their new country. These immigrants helped build this nation in a way. This house taught them literature, art, history, and domestic activities. This house was open until 2012. It helped shed a light on the need for foster care, child care, domestic abuse counseling, and job training. -

President Lyndon B. Johnson passed this act to help with the war on poverty. This act helped start the program Headstart which is still used in all 50 states today. It is important because without this program lower income families would not have the supplies and support needed for schooling and everyday needs. -

This made it possible for the disabled to get appropriate education through school. This also made sure it was a free education for students aged birth to 21. The disabled have every right to an education to better their future. They should not be hid away in a dark room somewhere just because they are seen as different. They have every right to a successful life just like everyone else.
