The bessemer process
- Bessemer process. 1850. Henry Bessemer, a british engineer made a the Bessemer process. It’s the most efficient way to make steel. Andrew Carnegie adopted this process in 1873. It made so many things possible, like building sky scrapers, suspension bridges, and cars. It played a major roll in the industrialization of the country, and made us the largest producer of steel in the world.

13th amendment
- 13th amendment passed. December 6, 1865. The 13th amendment ended slavery. It was easier to get approved in the north than it was in the south. Many southerner plantation owners depended on slave labor. This is an important event because it was the first sign the African Americans were getting the equality they deserve.

14th amendment
- 14th amendment passed. July 28, 1868. The 14th amendment granted automatic citizen ship to anyone born in the United States. Like the 13th amendment it was easier to get approved in the north than it was the south. This was another step for African Americans gaining equality

The rail road connected the east to the west. it made a 6 moth trip across the country into 6 days.it's how steel and farmers goods were transported all over the country. It was another big part of the industrialization of the U.S. -

The 15th amendment gave african american men the right to vote. African americans tried to get the right to vote ever since they have been freed. this is another step towards equality -
