Opium In China
In 1839 Britain started growing opium in its Indian colonies and exporting it to China. This became a problem because there was a rapidly growing addiction for opium, and in 1839, all opium importation and exportation along with smoking opium was banned. This caused what was called the first and second opium wars between Britain and china. -
