Paul revere had yelled out to the people in small towns Lexinton that the British is coming. He was able to warn many people to get up and fight the redcoat. Many of the church bells rang and gunshots. -
Concord
The British were near the town concord but 70 minutemen were waiting in line really to fight the British. The British and minute fought for 15mins and 8 minutemen were killed but one was wounded . The Redcoats only had one wounded then the British started to march to concord. Their were 3000 to 4000 minutemen waiting for the British and slaughtered many of the redcoats. -
Bunker Hill
Thomas Gage was British general had sent 2,400 men to breed hill. Their was an epic battle and the British had 1,000 men wounded while the colonists only had 450 wounded. -
New York
British sailed to New York in hope of taking it from the colonists. But many of their men were not trained to fight so they were pushed to Delaware river. The continental army were able to push British away. -
Trenton
Washington had begun did a bold move on Christmas of 1776 by sailing across the frigid to Delaware to Trenton New Jersey. Washington had did a surprise attack on the garrison of hessians but British took the capital at Philadelphia -
Saratoga
General John Burgoyne had lead a army to back up British troops from New York. Militiamen had surrounded Saratoga with continental army and general John Burgoyne had surrendered. -
Marquis De Lafayette
Marquis De Lafayette had trained the continental soldiers. They had became an effective fighting force. -
Valley Forge
Continental soldiers had low food and 2,000 men had died. The survivors of the battle didn't deserve to live. But they stood their ground and endured the suffering. -
Philadelphia
Rich merchant named Robert Morris was appointed superintendent. Haym Salome created money to pay Goethe continental troops but the wives had to farm and work. -
Yorktown
British general named Charles Cornwallis lead 7,500 troops into Pennsylvania and camped at Yorktown. Once Washington heard of Cornwallis camping out their he launched a march to attack him and his troops.October 18, 1781 Cornwallis had surrendered which shocked the world. -
Treaty of Paris
1782 the negotiating team of the colonist including John Adams, John jay of New York and Benjamin Franklin. 1783 signed treaty of Paris, which confirmed U.S independent and set boundaries of the new nation.
