Piano
In 2007, I started taking piano lessons and took them for 8 years. I have had many different teachers, and the last 2 years I took lessons from a professor at the college. -
Singing
In 2014, I started participating in a childrens choir. i was in it for 2 years. I enjoyed it a lot, and learned a lot from my teachers. -
Band
i started band in 6th grade. I play the trumpet, and have played for 4 years. -
Jr High State
in 7th grade, I made the state Middle School choir. It was in Fargo at NDSU. It was a good experience. -
Regionals at Sioux Falls
This was the first major music event I went to. I had a director who was crazy and made us do jumping jacks before we sang. I remember it was a crazy and weird first experience with choirs. -
National Honor Choir
I auditioned for the national honor choir being hosted in Minneapolis. It was almost a full week of singing and listening to other concerts and choirs from around the nation. I got to meet the composer of one of our songs. I got to see concerts from St. Olaf's choir and a jazz choir. our final performance in the Minnesota Orchestral hall. -
All-State
This was the first year I made all-state honor choir for high school. My conductor was from the university of Colorado, and he liked to have fun, and we had great music and I learned a lot. -
Contest
Last year, I took part in regional and state contest competitions. I earned state stars, the highest award, for my solo and for another group I was in, and region stars for another one or two groups. -
2nd All-state
i made the All-state choir this year as well, and it was a very different experience. The director was amazing, but it was a looser and more fun atmosphere. -
2nd Contest
Last week, I got a region star inn 3 of my 4 events I am in, including 2 groups and a solo.
