jojo dated a soccer player freddy adu from may 2005 to september 2006 . they both met on a tv show on mtv . a washington post article reported that the two broke up after one year . jojo says they're still good friends . -

in an april 8, 2008 interview at the hearst tower for the "ultimate prom" party jojo stated that she's writing and producing an album in boston and atlanta . out of 3 quarters of the finished material she wrote all but one song . she said it will be her most personal album to date with inspiration coming from a romantic breakup to finding a new relationship , as well as feeling sexier and more confident becoming a woman . -

on october 14, 2008 jojo sang the national anthem before game 4 of the alcs at fenway park in boston , massachusetts . in december 9, 2008 jojo was nominated again at the boston music awards and was nominated for outstanding pop/r&b act of the year , but the singing group jada won the award . -

in january 2009 jojo stated on her official myspace that she worked with producers chad hugo , jim beanz and kenna . she's working very hard for her new album . she stated she'd been having problems with her record label and changed her label from blackground to interscope records . -

on february 28 jojo told the new title of her third album , "jumping trains" , named after one of her favorite songs on the album . jojo says that “my third album will be called jumping trains and it’s very symbolic for a variety of reasons . “moving from boston to l.a. , transitioning from being a girl to being a young woman , living on my own , taking a different direction sonically , and just really finding myself and just jumping into a new chapter of life ." -

the music video for the song "the other chick" was fimed on april 20, 2011 by director kai regan and is still awaiting release . on august 18, 2011 jojo announced on her twitter account that the first official single from jumping trains would be "disaster" . -
personal life
jojo and her mom live in edgewater , new jersey . her recording studio is in manhattan , new york city . she was homeschooled for three years , and says that "school was definetly a big part of my life" . she got mostly a's and b's .
