Johnny shows Cilla the silver cup that proves he is related to the wealthy Lytes
Fictional: When Cilla wakes up in the night because Isannah is sick and she goes to the wharf with Johnny to cool Isannah down and they talk and eventually Johnny shows her a cup with the initials of the Lytes and he has the middle name Lyte (it is very rare for a poor person to have a middle name, let alone Lyte). -
Johnny gets arrested for "stealing" a cup
Fictional: Johnny doesn't know what to do with his life so he turns to the Lytes. He doesn't want to be extremely rude, so he brings a nice silver cup to give to Mr. Lyte. However, the plan backfires and he thinks that Johnny stole the cup from him and he gets Johnny arrested for that. -
Johnny wins court case
Fictional: Johnny goes to court for "stealing" cup from Mr. Lyte and Johnny has many witnesses that help him and Mr. Lyte has a feeling he is going to lose, but he thinks he will win because he is rich and powerful, but he ends up losing. -
Johnny gets a job with the Boston Observer
Fictional: Johnny ends up getting a job at the Boston Observer where he delivers papers while riding his horse named Goblin. He also helps carries out secret messages to the people involved the Sons of Liberty to inform them about secret meetings. -
John Hancock orders sugar basin
Fictional: John Hancock goes to the household that Johnny lives in and asks for a sugar basin because he has already ordered silversmith items from Johnny's master, Mr. Lapham, and he was very satisfied. -
Johnny burns his hand
Fictional: When Johnny is making the sugar basin, Dove "pranked" him and broke something and then molten material got on Johnny's hand and he burned it so bad that his thumb got stuck to his hand and he now could never be a silversmith. Dove "pranked" him because he was jealous that Johnny was way better than him and Johnny always boasted about how good he was and Dove was sick and tired of Johnny being way too arrogant. -
British tax the colonists for tea and the Sons of Liberty plan to do something about it
Based in History: The British tax the colonists because they need to repay the debt of the French and Indian War. The colonists are complaining constantly and Johnny delivers a secret message about a meeting where the Sons of Liberty are going to meet. When the meeting is happening, they tell Johnny and his friend that they can help them. -
Boston Tea Party
Based in History: The Sons of Liberty and whigs have had enough of the tax and they dress up as Native Americans and destroy all the chests on all three ships that are filled with tea. -
The colonists have to pay the Fiddler's Bill
Based in Hisory: Once the British found out about what the colonists did, they closed the port to Boston, which provided almost all of the jobs in Boston. They closed it until the colonists paid for all of the tea. Most people were just in the city talking about what is going to happen because almost nobody had their job and they didn't know what to do. -
Johnny Becomes a spy
Fictional: As tensions rise in the colonies, people are beginning to think that there is going to be a war and the whigs have Johnny get information from Dove about the British and from other people. He helped the colonists get an advantage against the British -
The Lytes get mobbed
Fictional: One day in August, as the tensions between the whigs and tories were the highest, a mob of protesters came to the Lyte house and completely destroyed it and the Lytes were forced to leave and by the time they escaped the city, their carriage was torn apart and they looked exhausted and lifeless. -
James Otis's speech
Fictional: At the last meeting of the Observers, James Otis gives his speech for that "A man can stand up". This touches Johnny and makes him realize that this is the reason for why the should rebel. Otis tells them that everyone gives everything they have for one simple thing, so a man can stand up for themselves. -
Pumpkin get shot and killed
Fictional: When Pumpkin is wearing Johnny's clothes, the British troops are walking by and they recognize him and they see that he has left his squad and that is illegal for them, so they shoot him and kill him and while all this is happening, Johnny was watching and he gets petrified and scared of what is going to happen to many other people, but he also knows that people are going to die. -
The American Revolution starts
The tensions got too high and the war started. The colonists had won a few smaller battles and they actually ended up winning the war due to them knowing the British's plans and them being prepared. Johnny helped a ton in that because he got a lot of information from Dove and told whigs. Many people died, but in the end it was successful for the colonists. -
Rab dies
Fictional: Johnny's best friend Rab dies because he got shot and killed. He never even got to use the rifle that Johnny got for him. Johnny was very sad that his really good friend had died, but he knew that it was necessary for people to die so that a man can stand up for themselves. So, Johnny knew he would probably die and he accepted it.
