    Early Life

John Stuart Mill's father, John Mill, spent a considerable amount of time teaching his son whenever he was not busy. Mill was fluent in Latin and Greek by the time he was 14.
Later in his teenage years he began editing manuscripts for other philosophers and even founded his own societies.
  • Mill's Writings

Mill published 'A System of Logic in' 1843 to explain science history, philosophy, and sociology in simpler terms, according to Richard Paul Anschutz. Over time, Mill added more additions to his work.
  • Mill's Involvement

After publishing another one of his writings, Mill begins to speak out for the rights of the poor in Ireland. Mill believed that owning property would solve the unrest at the time, and he himself denied property that was offered to him.
  • On liberty

Mill published his most known piece of work 'On Liberty' where he speaks on how individuals should be free from government and societal morals and economics. Mill believed that a person should do whatever they wanted whether or not it was legal or morally right in the eyes of others, as long as it did not harm others. (Biography, 2023)
