    English Physicist, Anglican priest, and renowned speaker John Polkinghorne was born October 16th, 1930 to Anglican Christians Dorothy Charlton and George Polkinghorne in the Weston-Super-Mare United Kingdom. The only surviving out of his siblings.
  • Education/ Pre-priesthood 1952-1956

    John earned a bachelor’s in mathematics in 1952, shortly there after her obtained his master’s degree and then finishing of his education after obtaining his Doctorate in Quantum field theory from Trinity college in 1956
  • Additional education

    John received an additional Doctorate in Theoretical Elementary particle physics from Trinity College in 1974.
  • Royal society/ Introduction into Priesthood

    Polkinghorne was selected as Fellow of the Royal Society, 5 year concluded his research he resigned and began theological studies at the Westcott House in Cambridge. John was ordained in 1982 and became Vicar of a Parish in Blean in 1984, 2 years later was appointed Fellow, Dean, and Chaplain of Trinity Hall Cambridge.
  • Important Publications

    In 1983 John Polkinghorne published “The Way in World is”, in which he explained how a thinking a person can be a Christian. It was the first of several works on the relationship between science and religion
  • The Society of Ordained Scientist

    In 1986 John helped to establish The Society of Ordained Scientists, a preaching order of the Anglican communion. He was also founding president of The International Society for Science and Religion form 2002-2004
  • The life and Death of John Polkinghorne

    John Polkinghorne passed away March 9th of this year at the graceful age of 90, Polkinghorne left such a profound effect not only in ministry but scientifically as well. His work will continue to change the way people view science and religion for centuries to come.
