    John Polkinghorne was an English Anglican priest, theologian and physicist. He was born on 16 October 1930 at Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England.
  • Eduaction

    In 1952, he earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics, a master’s in the same field in 1955, and a doctorate degree in 1956. In the same year (1956), John became a lecturer in mathematical physics at the University of Edinburgh. In 1958, to Cambridge for the same position and was promoted to professor of mathematical physics in 1968. In 1974, he earned another doctorate degree from Trinity College in theoretical elementary particle physics
  • Other Accomplishments

    In addition to the £1-million Prize, john received a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth in 1997. This was in recognition of his contributions in the fields of religion, science, medical ethics, and scholarships.

    John Polkinghorne wrote five books on physics and 26 more on how science related to religion. Some of his publications include The Quantum World (1989), Quantum Physics and Theology: An Unexpected Kinship (2005), Exploring Reality: The Intertwining of Science and Religion (2007), and Questions of Truth (2009). In 2002, the John was recognized as an exceptional contributor to affirming spiritual dimensions of life and respect to that received the £1-million Templeton Prize,
